Transparency International Romania and The Romanian Magistrates Association organized Friday, 1st of November 2019, the International Colloquy ”State aid, in the context of updating the rules on granting state aid, as well as strengthening the role of national courts”.
The event took place in Bucharest, at Deutsche Bank Global Technology’ headquarters and brought together a significant number of professionals in the field.
More than 50 judges from the administrative and civil litigation sections of the national courts and courts of appeal, the High Court of Cassation and Justice, as well as judges from EU member states participated and debated relevant issues in the field of state aid.
The format of the event included two plenary sessions and four workshops moderated by international specialists with significant experience in the field.

The International Colloquy was also a good opportunity for networking and exchanging of good practices in European competition law, with a focus on state aid, improving cooperation between Romanian judges and judges from other EU countries, networking.
The event organized in Bucharest is part of the project "Strengthening the role of Romanian courts in the application of state aid legislation", co-financed by the European Commission, General Directorate of Competition.
