Ethical Code
Preamble

This conduct code is based on article 7, paragraph 3, letter d of article 351, paragraphs 2-4, and article 354, paragraph 1, letter g, of the statute of the Romanian Association for Transparency/Transparency International Romania (TI-Romania). This conduct code is based on the Transparency International Declaration regarding the Vision, Values and Guiding Principles of the Coalition, adopted in the Annual Assembly of Prague, 2001. Moreover, the code is based on the TI Policy regarding conflicts of interests as presented in the TI National Assembly at Nairobi, 2004, and approved by the TI Board in October 2004, which is an appendix to the current code and an integral part of it.

While the Declaration establishes a general ethical frame, the present conduct code corresponds to the particularities, background and aspirations of TI Romania. Individuals who associate with TI Romania assume the highest standards of integrity and responsibility, in accordance with the essence of TI’s values and principles, and the promotion of these standards and principles.

TI Romania associates promote the principles of the Transparency International global movement and its ideals. The present code is a living testimony, its value for TI Romania residing in the ability to create a favourable environment to promoting integrity.
