The European Union Integrity System Presented in the European Parliament
EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, 26th March 2015: the Transparency International EU Liaison Office will present the findings of the European Union Integrity System 2014 report in the European Parliament at the Joint Hearing on accountability, transparency and integrity, organized by the committees on budgetary control, legal affairs, civil liberties and constitutional affairs.
The EU Integrity Study was conducted by the Transparency International EU Office in 2013 and 2014. The project contributes to the wider fight against corruption in Europe by looking at corruption risks in 10 EU institutions, examining the rules and practices designed to prevent corruption occurring internally in these institutions, as well as assessing how each institution fosters public integrity.
The Joint Hearing “Towards a high degree of accountability, transparency and integrity in the EU Institutions" is held with the main objective of allowing a deep discussion at the European Parliament level about crucial issues of accountability, transparency and integrity of the EU institutions. The key conclusions of the Transparency International Report on 'the European Union Integrity System', the first ever comprehensive review of corruption and integrity risks in the EU institutions, will also be presented.
