“Sustainable Local Development through Dialogue and Commitment” – a project dedicated to NGOs and social partners in the Aiud Municipality and the Development Region - Centre.
Transparency International Romania supports non-governmental organizations and social partners in the Aiud Municipality and the Development Region - Centre to strengthen their capacity to engage with local public administration and participate in community development.
From August 2022 to September 2023, Transparency International Romania is implementing the project “Sustainable Local Development through Dialogue and Commitment”, under SIPOCA 947/MySMIS 151484. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of a minimum of 40 non-governmental organizations and social partners to engage in the preparation and promotion of local development. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of mechanisms and procedures for interaction with local public authorities, as well as specialized training and networking.
One of the main activities of our project is a series of training sessions dedicated to NGOs and social partners. Three types of courses are designed to support the development of specific skills, as follows:
The course on the development, monitoring, and evaluation of local public policies and strategies, will address topics such as: the development of alternative policy proposals, monitoring and evaluation of public policies, and advocacy for local initiatives in relation to local public administration.
The course on effective organization and reporting in NGOs, covering topics such as: NGOs accountability, in compliance with national legislation and EU directives;
The course on decision-making transparency and interaction with local public administration, addressing themes such as: legislative changes and methods of interaction with local public administration based on current legislation.
Within this project, Transparency International Romania will conduct a series of meetings of the Consultative Group for Local Development, where the consultation mechanism will be tested using all the tools created.
Expected outcomes of the “Sustainable Local Development through Dialogue and Commitment” project:
- A local consultation mechanism named the Consultative Group for Local Development (CDL), developed within the project and implemented in partnership with the Aiud Municipality.
- A minimum of 80 representatives of NGOs and social partners certified at the end of training sessions.
- Two procedures for the interaction of NGOs with local public authorities, developed.
- A guide as an instrument for monitoring and independently evaluating policies and strategies at the local level.
