In the series of events in the Constitutional Forum, Transparency International Romania organized the second debate on the revision of the Romanian Constitution - "Creating an Ethical, Integrity and Social Responsibility Framework in the Constitutional Regulation of the Judicial Authority".

The first event on April 12, 2013, which aimed to establish the proposals to amend the Constitution, the Chapter "Judicial Authority" was finalized with the centralization of the proposals submitted by the National Union of Judges, the Romanian Prosecutors' Association, the Romanian Magistrates Association, the Bar Association Bucharest. Their centralization was the starting point of the discussions in the consultative conference, the results of which will be submitted to the Commission for the Revision of the Constitution of the Romanian Parliament.

The second event held today had as a discussion point the presentation and discussion on the articles of the proposals for changes received, the prioritization of the review process in the proposed proposals and the adoption of the proposed amendments and their theoretical substantiation.

Thus, the proposals received from both the professional associations in the field, participating in the first event, as well as from the representatives of the non-governmental organizations present were discussed: the Legal Resources Center, the Association for the Defense of Human Rights in Romania - the Helsinki Committee, the Romanian Group for Defense of Human Rights, Civicus Association Romania, Foundation for the Defense of Citizens' Rights against State Abuse, Civil Society Development Foundation. The most important issues addressed were the review of articles on fundamental rights and freedoms, the composition of the Superior Council of Magistracy and the statute of its members, the status of judges and prosecutors.

Subsequently, all the ideas formulated will be centralized so that the final document to be debated reflects the views of all participants.
