International conference: Lessons from the European Union for Ukraine

Transparency International Romania participated on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the international conference: Lessons from the European Union for Ukraine: economic development, anti-corruption, and judicial reform.

The conference was organized in three panels, with the aim of finding solutions for Ukraine based on the UE member states experience. The major issues debated were: economic development, anti-corruption, and judicial reform. One of the EU member state relevant experience was Romania.

Within the panel dedicated to anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine was presented the research report: “How to save anti-corruption reform in Ukraine (based on Romanian experience)”,

Victor Alistar from Transparency International Romania spoke about Romania`s experience in the field and about the efficiency of anti-corruption reforms at the national level. In fact, Victor Alistar participated in the elaboration of the mentioned research report as peer reviewer.

Within the same panel, the following spoke: Artem Sytnyk, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Vira Mykhailenko, judge of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, Alexander Lemenov, founder of StateWatch.

The event was hold within the framework of the project “Building Bridges in Public Policy: Ukraine”, funded by the Open Society Institute in collaboration with OSIFE at the Open Society Foundation.
