NAG (National Advisory Group) members reunited this year in two workshops to debate the assessment results conducted through Business Integrity Country Agenda.
The first workshop took place between 21 and 22 January 2020 and its main topic was the presentation of the whole assessment report, from the methodology used to the conclusions resulted. In the same time, the NAG members debated and approved the scores resulted regarding the indicators used in the BICA assessment. As working method, it was presented, debated and approved separately each thematic aria of the report, corresponding to the three key sectors evaluated: the public sector, the private sector and civil society.
The second workshop was held on 17 February 2020 and the principal debate was the recommendations that the assessment report will contain in order to increase the public integrity. The recommendations were elaborated for each evaluated key sector.
The attendees of the two workshops were representatives from public institutions, business sector and also from NGOs sector. The members who couldn’t attend the events emailed their opinions and recommendations regarding the assessment report, in this way all the NAG members were involved in the elaboration of the document.
Thank you all for being involved in this project with argued opinions and suggestions. The next step of this project is to launch at national level the Assessment Report.
The National Advisory Group is a working forum created within the BICA project and is consisting of representatives stakeholders from the business sector, civil society field and public institutions.
The aim of the National Advisory Group

Provide rich sources of information and diverse expert views on business integrity;

Advise on research methodology, content and outreach;

Offer feedback on the findings from the application of the research methodology;

Identify strategic recommendations;

Discuss ways to transform strategic recommendations into an operational reform agenda;

Contribute to promoting the BICA findings and the recommendations of the research report.
BICA project is implemented in Romania and Serbia, under the coordination of Transparency International-Secretary. For Romania, the implementation is ensured by Transparency International Romania, between January 2019 – March 2021.
The project is financed by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Through this type of technical cooperation, the financier aimed at building the capacity of civil society on promoting business integrity in the region.
