Training sessions for judges started!

 

 

Transparency International Romania in partnership with the Magistrates' Association of Romania organizes training courses in the field of state aid. The sessions are free of charge and address a number of 100 judges at national level.

Participants have the opportunity to improve their knowledge on issues such as: state aids control in the EU, the role of national courts in the field of state aid, public enforcement of European and national competition rules.

 

Training sessions are divided as follows:

  • Courses dedicated to courts in the field of business cases (Courts judges and Courts of Appeal judges), aiming at private enforcement of the competition law and state aid rules;
  • Courses dedicated to administrative litigation Courts, on administrative documents drawn up by national competition authorities (judges from the Courts of Appeal and High Court of Cassation and Justice).

The first session of courses dedicated to commercial law courts was held in Drobeta Turnu Severin on 28-29 March 2019. The following sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • 11-12 April, Iasi
  • May 9-10, Timisoara
  • May 23-25, Băile Felix
  • June 6-7, Bucharest

 

The sessions take place within the framework of the project "Enhancing the enforcement role of Romanian Courts in state aid matters", financed by the European Union through the European Commission - Directorate General for Competition. The project is implemented by Transparency International Romania in partnership with the Romanian Magistrates' Association (AMR), between January 2018 and December 2019.

 

The aim of the project is to increase the capacity of the Romanian judiciary system to implement European policies in the field of state aid law. For this, 5 training sessions for 100 state aid judges are held, on state aid topics, in the context of updating the state aid rules and strengthening the role of national courts.
